1010 Rotarian
International Friendship Exchange

The party to travel to Australia from District 1010/1020. From left to right Peter & Jean Marsden (Stewartry), Peter & Heather Austin (Elgin), Jelte & Ina van der Veen (Aberdeen Deeside), Colin & Morag Lowe (North Fife), Harold & Margaret Craig (Inverurie), Richard & Joy Smeed (Dunbar) and Peter Tong (Westhill-team leader). The group arrive in Sydney on 26th March and next day after a 6 hour train journey arrive in District 9650. In New South Wales the first call is at their District Conference and then being hosted by Tuncurry-Forster Club, Gloucester, Tamworth, Inverell, Nambucca Heads and Woolgoolga (Coffs Harbour). The variety of places visited includes coastal resorts, rural countryside and clubs in the lower regions of the mountains. The District stretches to the desert in the west. A great and varied trip! With several late call offs invitations were extended to clubs in District 1020 and Stewartry and Dunbar Club Rotarians and their partners joined the group. This trip follows the successful Australian visit to Scotland in late August/early September with the Aussie party presenting a slide show at District Conference 1010 at Aviemore.
